In February 2012, the Beijing Institute of Technology project “Resources and Environmental Management Complex Systems Modeling Method and Its Application” won the first prize of the Ministry of Education “Science and Technology Progress Award”.
In the course of the project, Professor Wei Yiming and his team published 112 papers in Computers and Industrial Engineering, Nature, Hazards, the Environment Impact, Assessment and Review, and other important journals including SCI / EI 54; five Monographs; 33 papers were cited more than 30 times; cumulatively cited 3286 times with one individual paper being cited 273 times; two granted patents, 2 software copyrights. The paper on disaster prediction modeling was cited by EJOR OR / MS research in disaster operations management. The project has initially solved the problem of coordination of water supply, power generation and environmental objectives, created a greater economic efficiency and social benefits.
