2016年12月29日，美國(guó)西佛羅里達(dá)大學(xué)教授Kalyan Chakraborty應(yīng)我校管理與經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)院邀請(qǐng)，在主樓418會(huì)議室作了題為“Trends and Outlook for Global Insurance Industry An Application to Productivity Analysis of Insurance Firms”的學(xué)術(shù)報(bào)告。管理與經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)院博士生、碩士生共12人參加了本次學(xué)術(shù)報(bào)告會(huì)。
Kalyan教授首先就全球保險(xiǎn)產(chǎn)業(yè)現(xiàn)狀進(jìn)行總體概述，然后著重就中國(guó)和印度兩國(guó)的保險(xiǎn)市場(chǎng)發(fā)展現(xiàn)狀展開(kāi)詳細(xì)介紹，并將兩國(guó)市場(chǎng)進(jìn)行橫向比較。同時(shí)，Kalyan教授以印度保險(xiǎn)市場(chǎng)為例，運(yùn)用面板數(shù)據(jù)就保險(xiǎn)市場(chǎng)進(jìn)行生產(chǎn)力分析并就指標(biāo)選取與含義進(jìn)行詳細(xì)介紹。此外，Kalyan教授還就規(guī)范保險(xiǎn)業(yè)建設(shè)以及促進(jìn)產(chǎn)業(yè)發(fā)展提出了相關(guān)的政策建議。最后，Kalyan教授和參加報(bào)告的學(xué)生進(jìn)行了學(xué)術(shù)上的交流，不少學(xué)生在自己的研究領(lǐng)域內(nèi)提出了相關(guān)問(wèn)題，Kalyan教授一一為其解答，大家都受益匪淺。至此，此次報(bào)告會(huì)圓滿(mǎn)結(jié)束。
kalyan Chakraborty教授簡(jiǎn)介：
Dr. Kalyan (Kal) Chakraborty (known to his students and colleagues as ‘Dr. Kal’) is Associated Director and Senior Research Scientist, Haas Center for Research at University of West Florida, Pensacola, Florida. Dr. Kal teaches at the Marketing and Economics department in the School of Business. Dr. Chakraborty got his PhD in Economics from Utah State University. Dr. Kal came to the Haas Center in 2016 from Emporia State University, Kansas where he was a tenured full professor of economics in the School of Business. He has over 20 years of university teaching experience. His research interests include: applied microeconomics, regional economics, resource and recreational economics, economics of public education, and economics of biotechnology and policy. In his career Dr. Kal has received several awards for research including Emporia State University President’s Award for research and creativity (2013) and Jewel of Indian Award from Non-Resident Indian-Foundation (2013).
